this tag is from zara and zaria's mom about food around the world. ::sorry i took so long to do this:: if im honest enough even to say this, i have a family who loves to eat too much. we never settled for one per bowl meal once we sit down to eat. there has to be extra extra servins on the table and we'll pass the food around like we're in the production line in a food factory. or like the food quality controller. whichever you can imagine better. no kiddin.
no wonder we're all 'not thin'. my mom, she's a very good cook, she make prawn crackers, she bakes the best indonesian layer cake, she makes the yummiest fishballs, she can cook almost everythin this i am serious. you name it, dumplings, chinese red wine, kaya, noodles, almost anythin.
the one food i love is katong laksa.
Hailed as Singapore’s national dish by its loyalist camp, laksa, a humble dish of rice noodles, shrimps, cockles, fish cake and chilli paste in thick coconut-based broth has won over fans including expatriates, visiting dignitaries and celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain. But there’s laksa, and there’s Katong laksa. of course the best singapore katong laksa is in katong, but then you can still find it elsewhere around singapore. and my mom, she cooks katong laksa for us sometimes when our crave for it. anyway if this tag is supposingly based on our local favourite food, mine will also be laksa. asam laksa neh. yummy.

you must try it on your next visit to sg. you can find it at hawkers or food court too. though it's not really a healthy food (lotsa coconut milk), once in a while it's ok. close one eye and enjoy.

it taste much better if you put a lot a lot of chopped laksa leaves inside. so ask for extras.
